Casey Still Aims High
Sunday Herald Sun 23/7/06
Casey Donovan is pushing on with her dreams of establishing a recording career, despite being dropped from the Sony roster. "We (Sony) parted on really good terms, but unfortunately they let me go. I look at what has happened as just another challenge. It has opened another door that I have to walk through" she said.
"Hopefully I will get an album out later this year".
Donovan was the lead act at the Kids Under Cover Dinner at Crown last night and sang several new tracks at the event. She is dabbling in different styles of music and has been writing songs. Now 18, Donovan said she may have been too young to cope with the pressure when she won Australian Idol at 16. "I probably was a bit young, but it was a learning step for me", she said.
"Music was the only thing I wanted to do and, whether I was 16 or 25, my goal was to have an album, produce singles and get my name out there. I am so grateful I was in Australian Idol and I don't have any regrets".
It's amazing....she has gone from being a young girl who was so uncomfortable talking to the media that she struggled to speak, to a young lady who gives such wonderful, professional responses in only 2 years!
Good job Casey. :)
She has every reason to be angry and yet she is speaking of just another step to learn from.
I have such a huge respect for Casey she is such a loverly young woman.
